Artist's Comments

Part one in a series of tutorials on how to draw your own transmutation circles. In this tutorial, I discuss the area of effect of the circle as it has the most to do with the overall shape of the circle.

I think this will be a three part series. With the second focusing on elemental iconography and form. Then the third will be an actual tutorial on how to draw one in photoshop or a similar vector program – a tutorial that even now is giving me ulcers just thinking about putting it together. :ohnoes:

I did not have much ambition to do it, but [link] badgered me into it because she is evil and I can't resist the demands of cute girls well. So it's the result of badgering, not avarice.

I'm trying. The second is probably going to be the harder to make the tutorial for because it is kind of a vague concept to begin with and highly variable.

I can't make the icon thing work! (;—_— )

I would be most appreciative if anyone would care to look over and comment my art. Which is kind of a passive-aggressive way of saying, "Look at my art! Go! Go there now! I need attention!" (;^_^)

Lots of study, both online and books. A few of which I could suggest:

The symbols of destabilization and reintegration of classical elements by Robert Vanderly 1863

The Alchemist's Handbook: A Manual for Practical Laboratory Alchemy by Frater Albertus 1960

Dictionary of Occult, Hermetic and Alchemical Sigils by Fred Gettings 1981

I found a link to a PDF copy of one of them!

Dictionary of Occult, Hermetic and Alchemical Sigils by Fred Gettings 1981, about 25MB.
